Walk TeamsTeam up for Down Syndrome
Registration open now! Teams are a great way to show your spirit at the Designer Genes Walk for Down syndrome. Many of our families and community members put a theme together to show their group’s support for an individuals with Down syndrome.
Examples of some of our teams at past walks include: Ryker’s Rockers Lochlan’s Peeps Cristian’s Crusaders Raisin’ Awareness The Purple Queens Gracie’s Groupies Teams create groups with everything from ribbons to t-shirts, costumes to balloons. Simply use your imagination and remember to inform those coming to walk with you how your team will be dressing, meeting, etc. These are important details to make sure your group gets together. Team Captains should also create a site for their individual or Walk Team and help raise support by creating a TEAM PAGE using our Walk Donation Site. Walk T-Shirt Information T-Shirt Registration will close on Monday, September 23rd in order for us to prepare shirts. Anyone donating and/or participating is considered a hero. Find your favorite team and donate at least $20.00 to get an official Walk for Down Syndrome t-shirt. T-shirts will be distributed to team captains or mailed directly to you if you aren’t registered with a team. Each year we provide an event photographer for the Walk. The Walk photo gallery will be shared for Walk Star Teams on Designer Genes' Facebook group and then on the website.
Walk Star Poster
Individuals with Down syndrome are celebrated by posters with their pictures and interesting facts posted around the walk route. Team captains can have these posters designed and made by submitting information and a photo using the below link. A high resolution photo needs to be mailed at the same time form is completed.
