Designer Genes extends a warm welcome and congratulations to your brand new, or expecting, baby!Designer Genes is made up of families, who have children and adults of all ages with Down syndrome, aspiring to offer each other friendship, support and a network to share information.
Being told your beautiful new baby has Down syndrome is not easy news. It is a time of strange emotions—happiness for your new baby, sadness and grief for the baby you thought you would have, and confusion about what the future will hold. Know there is no right or wrong way to feel, except love for this new life you created. Amazingly, each day the future will be brighter as you begin to realize all the wonderful things your child will do. Every child with Down syndrome qualifies for free early intervention services from your local school district. We are here to make a referral to get you started. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need to request a new baby packet. We’re looking forward to meeting you and that new baby.
